As a Lincoln wedding photographer, this wedding venue is one of my favourites as it’s only a 5 minute walk from where I live. Perfect!
Jo & Dave were married at Charlotte House Hotel in the heart of Lincoln.
They wanted the photographs to show the fun, relaxed and informal feel of their wedding day, which is how I love to shoot. A sunny day with the colours of autumn were the icing on the cake…
Who did you choose for your hair and make-up?
My hair was done by my hairdresser – Dani at Butterflies in Hykeham. The bridesmaids’ hair was actually done by one of the bridesmaids, a very talented girl!
What about your dress? And accessories?
My dress was a White Rose Bridal and was purchased from a bridal boutique in Lincoln. Dave stepped on it a lot! Ha ha! My now mother-in-law lent me her diamond earrings as something borrowed.
Flowers were all from The Merry Florist in Waddington (http://www.merryflorist.co.uk) – very reasonable and a friendly service.
Where was your wedding, and why?
Our wedding was at Charlotte House Hotel in Lincoln (http://www.charlottehouselincoln.com)– we loved the Orangery there and thought it would be a great atmosphere. The hotel staff were fab as well!
Did you have a theme or style for your wedding?
We didn’t really have a theme as such – colours were ivory, royal blue and gold. We chose lots of candles on the tables as it was a winter wedding and we thought this would add to the atmosphere.
Tell us about your bridal party…
The best man was Steve Uprichard – a university friend. There was no question about who was going to be the best man.
Ushers were Barry Fulton, Nik Bartram and Mark Gamson – all long standing RAF colleagues of Dave’s.
Bridesmaids were my older sister, Louise Guest, best friends, Laura Dadswell and Hannah Sarjeant and my niece, Chloe Guest. All very special girlies to me.
What is your favourite photograph and why?
There are way too many of them! We love them all particularly where Patrick has captured the moment.
Who made your cake?
The cake was made by No 82 Cake Studio in Lincoln – 3 chocolate tiers – it tasted as good as it looked!
What about your wedding favours and stationery?
The wedding favours had a bit of a twist. Dave’s parents did a raffle so 3 people won hampers (but everyone got a choccie anyway).
Invitations and stationery were printed by my dad and then we added to them. It took a lot of time but was nice to create something exactly as we wanted.
What is your most memorable moment from your wedding day?
Too many memorable moments – a few faves were Dave’s speech, in my opinion he got it to a tee but then again I may be biased, my niece catching my bouquet and everyone joining in with us on a first dance.
Any comments about Natural Expressions Photography?
What a great guy Patrick Stubbs is. One of the reasons we chose him is because we both felt very comfortable with him, not to mention the quality of his photography. We would definitely not hesitate to recommend Patrick to anyone. He worked tirelessly throughout the day although sometimes you wouldn’t know he was there as he was so unobtrusive!
Anything else you would like to add?
Just another MASSIVE thank you to Patrick, one of our best choices for our wedding day!
Where was your honeymoon?
Our honeymoon was in the beautiful Caribbean island of Barbados, 10 days of pure bliss.
