Where was your wedding, and why?
We were married in Derbyshire – at our local church (St Helen’s Church in Trowell) and we had our reception at Castle Donington Park Farm House Hotel (http://www.parkfarmhouse.co.uk) in Isley Walton. We wanted a relaxed wedding with a twist but also wanted a traditional element to the day and these venues provided the perfect mix.
What was the theme / style of your wedding?
Our wedding was based around family and friends. We wanted the atmosphere to be relaxed as possible and everyone to enjoy themselves. We didn’t have a theme as such but as our wedding breakfast was served in Pig Sties there was a lot of ‘pig stuff’ going on!
Tell us about your dress?
I wore an Anna Sorrel gown in ivory with a lace, pearl and crystal detail.
What about your shoes?
My shoes were from Mia Sopia’s ‘Perfect’ range. They were called Georgina which is my step-mums name which was a strange coincidence. From the moment I saw them I loved them but after 6 hours they were killing me so they were swapped for a 4 year old pair of Adidas!
Did you have any jewellery / accessories?
My jewellery was kept really plain as I don’t wear much on an ordinary day. Simple diamond stud earrings with a white sapphire drop pendant. My veil had scattered gems and my tiara had crystals and pears to match my dress.
What flowers did you choose for your wedding day?
Our flowers were Black Barraca roses and cream Tulips
Who were your Bridesmaids & Groomsmen and why did you choose them?
We had my dad who gave me away, Andy’s brother as Best Man and my little brother as our usher. We picked them because they are very special people.
I had my sister as my maid of honour, my best friend Claire as my adult bridesmaid and my two godchildren as our flower girls. They were selected as these people mean so much to us and they were absolutely fantastic on the day. I couldn’t have asked for better bridesmaids.
What is your most memorable moment from your wedding day?
The look on Andy’s face when we first saw each other on the aisle. I will never forget it.
What is your favourite photograph and why?
It is impossible to have a favourite photo of the day as we love every single one of them. Patrick took our brief and made it come alive in a way that was better than we could have ever expected. The one where my Dad sees me in my dress for the 1st time and where Andy has his hand around my waist and all you can see is the detail on my dress and his wedding ring are very special prints, but then the ones that are of people relaxing in the courtyard and us against the walls where the contrasts of colours are amazing are also fantastic. See….. impossible to pick one!
Any comments about Natural Expressions Photography?
We have received so many comments from our guests where they said how Patrick immediately put people at ease – this really shows in our pictures. We always knew that we would get a fantastic set of photos from Patrick the minute we met him but what we have been given has exceeded our expectations beyond belief. Our perfect day has been captured by our perfect photographer.
Anything else you would like to add?
The web hosting is a fantastic bonus. Our family and friends cannot believe how easy it is to access our photos and they love the fact they can download them for no charge – it’s part of the package booked.
Where was your honeymoon?
We toured Sri Lanka for a week and then went to the Maldives for a week. It was the perfect end to a perfect stage in both of our lives.
